Roy G. Reiss, 90, of Corfu, passed away after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
Roy was born October 11, 1928, was the dear son of the late Wilhelm and Marie Dietrich Reiss.
Roy was predeceased by his loving wife Audrey (Cummings) Reiss in 2012, his son Roy Jr., his grandson Tyler Gabbey and his brothers George and William Reiss.
Roy spent over 30 years with Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company out of Batavia, where he retired in 1991. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 - 1955 as a Sr. Heating Specialist. He was an Airman 1st Class and received the National Defense Service Medal. Roy was known for his infectious smile and sense of humor. You could find him outside enjoying his woodworking, on his John Deere, gardening or just cooking out with his family. You could follow him by the never ending candy wrappers he left behind.
Roy is survived by his loving children, Rick (Debbie) Reiss of Corfu, Randy (Sandy) Reiss of Akron and Roxanne (Ron) Gabbey of Akron; his sister Elsie (Elwin) Clattenburg of Batavia and sister-in-law Marjory Reiss of Alexander. Roy is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Family and friends may call Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery in the spring.
